A New Year

I thought that this was a great time to restart my blog. Call it the Cammi School Chronicles. It's been a week since my angel started school at PCA. She's an official Lion. Wow! First, she is so darned cute in her little uniform. It's too precious. Who doesn't love a little girl in plaid and a peter pan collar and saddle shoes?! She's like my own little cupcake. Maybe I'm just excited to see her out of pink. LOL! After nearly 2 years of straight pink it's so nice to see her in anything but. Don't get me wrong I love pink, but it's nice, as a mother, to be able to go into the closet and not have to pull out another pink dress. Plus, I like having all the power and being able to say, "Sorry, school dress code." Oh my poor mother, I bet she wishes she could have pulled that. ;) I have to say I am SUPER PRO uniform. So easy. Little fighting to be done. Now it just comes down to peter pan shirt or polo? Really I'm fine with either. Or the argument might be skirt or jumper? And if it's Friday, I get to pull the school rules line again. Oh glorious day! I think that alone is a wonderful reason to keep her in PCA for 13 years. *giggles devilishly*

We are so happy and so elated and feel so blessed to have the opportunity to send her to PCA. we are already seeing the fruits of the spirit being worked on like clay. I liked what Headmaster Taylor said yesterday at the parent breakfast, "Thank you Lord for the 1500 pieces of clay that you've entrusted to us." I pray that whether it's one year or the next 13, the time Cammi is in school will raise her up in the way we want her to go, the way of the Lord. (Proverbs 22:6) To prepare her for the horse races. (Jeremiah 12:5)

I've walked her into class for the past two days of this school week. Mommy does not mind this. ;) It's a whole lot easier on the Mommy heart to take your baby to class and get hugs and kisses, than when she just hops out of the car in the carpool lane. I did not like that experience. And then you are rushed out of the carpool lane, without a backward glance at your big little one's sweet smile. I think that ranked right up there with the first time I had to take her to daycare the day when I returned to work, after she was born, for pure heart suckage. Mommy is just fine parking and walking her into class. Wonder if I'll still get to do that when she's 14?? I can imagine the horror on her face now. I'm sure she'll make me park as far from the upper school as possible, so she won't have to have anyone see Mom kiss and hug her. Ah, but that is a decade from now, so I know I have at least a good 5 years of hugs and kisses to get in at the classroom door.
